Yves Jean Gustave

May 9, 1950 - December 3, 2025

Yves Jean Gustave, 75, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away on December 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Les Cayes, Haiti, Yves lived a life shaped by rich culture, creativity, and unwavering dedication.
Yves proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years, carrying out his duty with honor, discipline, and steadfast commitment. Following his military career, he continued his service as a police officer at Fort Sill for over 10 years, protecting and supporting his community with integrity and courage.
Beyond his service, Yves found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits. He loved golfing, fishing, and tending to his garden, where he found both peace and purpose. Most of all, he was a gifted painter and illustrator, expressing his creativity through vibrant artwork that reflected his heritage, life experiences, and imagination.
At the heart of Yves's life was his enduring love for his wife, Sun O Gustave. The two met while Yves was stationed in South Korea, beginning a beautiful partnership that spanned 45 years of marriage. Their relationship was built on mutual respect, loyalty, laughter, and unwavering support through life’s many chapters. Together, they created a loving home filled with strength, cultural richness, and shared values—one defined by devotion to family and to one another.
Yves is survived by his beloved wife, Sun O Gustave; his children, Natalie Ausley, Charles Gustave, and Anthony Gustave; and his seven cherished grandchildren: Jalil Wallace, Israel Graham, Bella Ramirez, Stephanie Gustave, Mason Gustave, Tyson Ausley, and Kingston Gustave.
He is also survived by his loving sisters, Marie Claude Cuvilly and Chantal Regis, and their children.
Yves was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Regis; his father, Nicholas St. Cyr; and his brother, Lionel Gustave.
He will be remembered for his kindness, quiet humor, creativity, and the steady wisdom he shared so freely. His legacy lives on through his artwork, his years of military and police service, and the strong family he and Sun built together, who will continue to carry his memory forward.
Tribute Poem

He lived with purpose,
Worked with his hands,
Created with heart,
And loved without measure.
In quiet moments and simple joys,
His presence endured-
A life fully lived, A story well told.
