Donald Lee Copeland

March 3, 1950 ~ September 15, 2020

Donald L. Copeland, 70, of Duncan, OK, passed away September 15, 2020, at the OKC VA after a long illness. He was born March 3, 1950, in Sondheimer, LA to the late Maime "Faye" Dixon and Leander Copeland.
Don was a U.S. Army veteran, proudly serving his country in Viet Nam, and is a lifelong member of the Duncan VFW. He worked as a Psychologist, specializing in geriatric care.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Hartman); his sons: Robert of Norman, OK, Timmothy of Oroville, CA, and Michael (Melissa) of Stillwater, OK; his stepchildren: Holly Vance of Anchorage, AK, Harold Vance (Marian) of Dallas, TX, Nick Vance (Kasey) of Duncan, OK, Dr. Jody Vance (Sandy) of Springfield, MO, and Donna Eakin (Wayne) of Butler, PA. He also has 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and his brothers: Ed Greenwood of The Colony, TX and Gary Kirby of Duncan. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Nancy Mann, Bernie Clark and Mary Copeland.
The family would like to thank the Peters Agency of Duncan for their amazing gift of compassion and caring.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 17, 5:30-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 18, at 10:00 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lynn Parkhurst, Marlow Calvary Baptist Church, officiating, under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
