John Raymond Barker, Jr.

March 31, 1943 - October 31, 2017

John Raymond Barker, Jr., 74, of Dibble, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at his home. The son of John Raymond Barker, Jr. and Lela Pearl (Hustead) Barker, he was born March 31, 1943 in Long Beach, California.
He served in the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1967. John married Joan Mae Chambers on August 6, 1964 in Oklahoma City. He worked many years as a sales representative for a truck parts company. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, and playing cards and games with his family. He liked fixing and reselling lawnmowers and was always tinkering with something.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Barker, of Dibble; one daughter, Annette Groehler of Dibble; two sons, Gene Barker and his wife, Laura, of Snellville, Georgia and John T. Barker and his wife, Tricia, of Washington; seven grandchildren, Michael Groehler and his wife, Erica, of Norman, Jonathon Groehler of Dibble, Lee Heflin of Atlanta, Georgia, Brittany Rutledge and her husband, Kris, of Snellville, Georgia, Alex Barker of Snellville, Georgia, Jesika Skinner and her husband, Ray, of Pauls Valley, and John Bradley Barker of Washington; four great grandchildren, Drake, Brenden, Brailey, and Hunter; two sisters, Sandra VanWinkle of Dibble and Ginger Matsukawa and her husband, Richard, of Las Vegas, Nevada; and many other loved ones and friends.
Graveside service with military honors will be held at 9:00 A.M., Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org.
