© Lawton Constitution Lawton, Oklahoma Tuesday, 18 Nov 2008 Funeral for Robert E. "Bob" Murphy, 68, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church, Geronimo, with the Rev. Steve Mallow officiating. He was born May 3, 1940, southeast of Lawton, to Mack D. and Eva L. Everidge Murphy. Mr. Murphy died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at his home. He grew up in Geronimo and moved to Hugo before returning to Lawton while in the ninth grade. He attended Lawton High School. He married Patricia Baughman on Nov. 9, 1959, in Geronimo. He was a carpenter and had worked for W. D. Ford and Sons, O. V. Warner and G. W. Hastings. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Geronimo. Burial will be in Flower Mound Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Kathy Murphy, Lawton; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sherrill and Donald Thurman, Lawton; and Sophia and Russell Bloomer, Corum; a brother and sister-in-law, W. H. and Jean Frost, San Antonio; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers: C. A. Frost, Turner Frost, William Murphy, and Mackie Murphy. |
