Ronald Bruce "Ronnie" Jones

Ronald Bruce Jones, 71, of Comanche, died Monday, July 23, 2007, in Texas.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Assembly of God Church in Lawton, with Don Barnes, pastor, and Gary Pratt, associate pastor, officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Flower Mound Cemetery under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Ronnie was born March 6, 1936, in Comanche, to Hurschell Ezell and Margaret Estelle Brooks Jones.

He grew up in Comanche and graduated from Comanche High School. He attended Cameron College for a year before joining the Army. He served for two years and was stationed in Korea. He also served in the Army Reserves for four years.

Following his military service, he worked at Skelly Oil Co. for 16 years. He then farmed and ranched in the Comanche area for many years. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Lawton.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Craig Jones and Stephanie Jones, and their children, Lauren and Lindsey Jones, of Cleburne, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Lt. Col. Ernie Rodriguez, and their children, Grace and Henry Rodriguez, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Mike Holt of Claremore, and her son, Micah Miller, of Tulsa; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Karen Jones of Edmond, and Darrell and Connie Jones of Lawton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Elias Giddens Rodriguez, on Nov. 29, 1997.
