Hargrove, 99, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home with Pastor John Webb officiating. Mr. Hargrove went to be with the Lord Monday, July 8, 2013, with his family by his side. Burial will follow with military honors at Flower Mound Cemetery. He was born April 22, 1914, in Wapanucka, to Sherman and Nannie Carnes Hargrove. He married Lameda Frances Smith on Feb. 28, 1939, in Duncan. He enjoyed pulling pranks and telling jokes, gardening, fishing, working on cars, but no Fords. He is survived by: one son and two daughters-in law: Richard and Betty Hargrove, of Lawton; and Robbie Hargrove, of Ninnekah; five daughters and son-in-laws: Ann King, of Houston; Jean and Bob Nolan, of Lawton; Frances and Ronnie Benes, of Richmond, Texas; Rita Rogers-Willis, of Oklahoma City; and Diana and Tony Josey, of Apache; sister, Mary Ryans, of Lawton; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lameda Frances Smith Hargrove; parents, Sherman and Nannie Hargrove; sons: John Hargrove and David Hargrove; grandson, Blain Abney; granddaughter, Sandra Cummings; great-granddaughter, Loving Hope Upton; brothers: John Hargrove and Virgil Hargrove; and sisters: Ruby Sechrist and Ruth Seay. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. |
© Lawton Constitution Lawton, Oklahoma Wednesday, June 29, 2005 Lameda F [Smith] Hargrove Funeral for Lameda Frances Hargrove, 84, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Webb officiating. Mrs. Hargrove died Monday, June 27, 2005, in Lawton. Burial will be at Flower Mound Cemetery. She was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Oklahoma to John and Ollie Bradford Smith. She attended school in Lawton and was a longtime resident. She married William D. Hargrove on Feb. 28, 1939, in Duncan. Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: David and Robbie Hargrove, Ninnekah; and Richard and Betty Hargrove, Lawton; five daughters and sons-in-law: Ann King, Houston; Jean and Bob Nolan, Lawton; Frances and Ronnie Benes, Richmond, Texas; Rita Rogers, Oklahoma City; and Diana and Tony Josey, Elgin; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Hargrove; a grandson, Blain Abney; a great-granddaughter, Loving Hope Upton; four brothers: John, Wallace, Bobby and Willie Smith; and two sisters: Ruby Dixon and Lillie Dane. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. |

Hargrove, 44, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Chapel with John Webb officiating. Mr. Hargrove died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, in Lawton. Burial will be at Flower Mound Cemetery. He was born Dec. 9, 1960, in Lawton to Lameda Frances Smith and William David Wheeler Sr. He attended Roosevelt Elementary, Central Junior High School and graduated from Lawton High School in 1980. After graduation, he went to work for Halliburton and later for the City of Lawton in 1998. Survivors include his parents, William and Lameda Hargrove, Lawton; a daughter, Krystal Crooks, Texas; four grandchildren: Jada, Andrew, Kaleb and Kaden; two special sisters: Sherry Camp, Lawton; and Sandra Rutherford, Oak Harbor, Ohio; a special nephew, Michael Cummings, Oak Harbor, Ohio; seven siblings: Frances Benes, Richmond, Texas; Ann King, Houston; Jean Nolan, Lawton; David Hargrove, Ninnekah; Rita Rogers, Oklahoma City; Richard Hargrove, Lawton; and Diana Josey, Elgin; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. |
