© Becker Funeral Home Marlow & Rush Springs, Oklahoma April 24, 2011 Josie Carla [John] Brown Funeral for Josie Carla [John] Brown, 53, Lawton will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Danny El Kouri, Word Alive Church and Pastor Randy Sullivan officiating. Mrs. Brown died Sunday in Lawton. Burial will be in Flower Mound Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. She was born November 4, 1957, in Lawton to Russell and Bennie [Wilson] John. Josie graduated from MacArthur High School in 1975 where she was a Highlanderette. She was also active in 4-H and FFA while in high school. She finished LPN School at Great Plains Vo-Tech in 1977 and worked as an LPN at Southwestern Medical Center for the next ten years Josie married Richard Brown on August 29, 1992 in Lawton. She became certified in 1984 as a drug and alcohol counselor and has worked in the mental health and substance abuse field since then. She was currently employed at Youth and Family Services of Stephens County in Duncan. Josie coached little league softball, basketball and track. She was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of Flower Mound Sunday School. She enjoyed her yard, home and family. She is survived by her husband, of the home, four children, Russell Kriz, Daniell Smith, Jodie Brown and Trey Brown, all of Lawton, two grandchildren, Shailyn Wells and Mavrik Kriz, both of Lawton, her parents, Lawton, two brothers, Wes John and Mitch John, both of Lawton, a niece, Jena [John] McGuire and her husband, Renno, Oklahoma City and a special friend, Rhonda Hebert, Lawton. |
