© Lawton Constitution Lawton, Oklahoma April 2010 Virginia L. [Spray] Seymour FLETCHER Funeral for Virginia L. Seymour, 79, Fletcher, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher Chapel with Paul Sparks, minister, Church of Christ at Porter Hill, the Rev. Joe Stewart, retired, Fletcher, and the Rev. Scott Carper, pastor of the Assembly of God, Fletcher, officiating. Mrs. Seymour died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, in a Lawton hospital. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery. Virginia was born Oct. 20, 1930, in Moore, to Jess and Katherine Spray. Virginia was raised in rural Moore by her grandparents, Elijah and Mollie Warren, after losing her mother when she was young. Virginia attended Moore High School and worked in the Moore and Oklahoma City area before marrying Marvin Seymour on April 23, 1949. Virginia was a mother to many, a friend to all and a faithful Christian. She devoted her life to her husband, Marvin, her two daughters and one nephew she and Marvin raised. She was always willing and eager to help a homeless child, a sick friend or relative or anyone in need. She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, Marvin; two daughters and their husbands: Kathy and David Cannon, and Dede and Tory Cole; a nephew, Billy McKean and his wife Linda; four grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; longtime friend Marge Rury; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; her mother and father-in-law, Henry and Dovie Seymour; sisters: Vonceil Hardy and Diane Hillyard; and a brother, Steven "Buck" Spray.
