Richard R. Ray


Former Carnegie Resident Dies At Home In Fletcher

Services for Richard R. Ray, 83, a former Carnegie resident, were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Fletcher Church of Christ. Arthur Hicks, former minister, officiated. Burial was in the Fletcher cemetery.

Ray, who had been in ill health for several years, died Wednesday afternoon, September 9, at his home in Fletcher.

He was born in Birmingham, Ala., February 4, 1876.

He moved to Oklahoma in 1890, and was married to Effie Treatt in 1911 at Tishomingo.

The retired farmer moving to Fletcher in 1950.

He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Macy Anderson and Mrs. Truman Dorrell, both of Lawton; three sons, Clyde of Lawton, Tommy of Amarillo and Calvin of Ardmore; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One son, R. L., died in May, 1959.
