Hobbs, 85 Funeral rituals for Whitfled Forster Hobbs, 85, were held at 2 p.m. today at the Baptist Church at Fletcher with Rev. P. Boyd Smith, pastor of Lawton Central Baptist Church conducting the services. Burial was in the Fletcher cemetery, directed by the Wiscner Funeral home of that city. Mr. Hobbs died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in the home of his son, Leonard Hobbs, 904 S. 9th St. He was born August 4, 1862 at Butler, Georgia. His parents moved from Georgia to Mississippi where he united with a Baptist Church at the age of 15. In 1884. The family moved to Lamar County, Texas. Mr. Hobbs was married November 19, 1893 to Miss Lenora Clark at Roxton, Texas. To this union was born two sons, Leonard Hobbs and Winfred Hobbs of Keyes, Oklahoma and two daughters Mrs. Mae Walker of Swanson, Texas and Mrs. Lillian Gross of Fresno, California. He is also survived by his wife, 904 S. 9th St., 29 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A farmer most of his life Mr. Hobbs lived at Fletcher about seven years and more recently here in Lawton. |
