Vestal Laging

October 7, 1913 - March 8, 1988

Services for Vestal Laging, 74, of Cyril were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 11, 1988 , at the First Christian Church of Cyril, with the Rev. Jack Smith, pastor, officiating.
Mr. Laging was born October 7, 1913 in Fletcher and died Tuesday, March 8, 1988 in a Lawton hospital following a long illness.
He was a farmer and cattleman who had lived in the area all his life. He also drove a delivery truck 25 years for Meads Factory and later for the Consumer Oil Company in Cyril, retiring in 1983. He was a member and a deacon of the First Christian Church of Christ of Cyril.
He married the former Hester Woody, Feb. 28, 1934 in Fletcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Jerry of Anaco, Venezuela ; two daughters, Sandra Kinder of Columbia , Mo. , and Sharon Moss of Lawton ; three sisters, Leatha Cable of Oklahoma City , Ruby Fleenor of Lake Isabella, Calif., and Ines Bennett of Pampa , Texas ; six grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
Burial was in the Fletcher Cemetery under direction of Robbins Funeral Home.
