© Hodge Funeral Home Fletcher, Oklahoma 31 October 2003 Kay Marie "Sissy"[Swann] Bridges 1940 ~ 2005 Mrs. Bridges died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at a Lawton hospital. Burial will be at Elgin Memorial Cemetery, Elgin, under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. She was born March 1, 1940, in Trent, Texas, to Ola Geisler Swann and Hunter Swann. She was raised on the Spade Ranch between Colorado City and San Angelo, Texas. She attended school in Colorado City, where she played Volleyball, basketball and was a cheerleader. She was a bank teller in Plano, Texas, and worked in tax office and Building Inspection Office in Garland, Texas, in 1980. She was the first woman building offical in Texas and one of the first in the United States. She married Roger "Buddy" Bridges on June 21, 1980, in Garland, Texas and moved to the Elgin area in 1983. She then worked for the City of Elgin and owned and operated a flower shop in Fletcher for several years. She later was a quality control inspector on many buildings at Fort Sill, including a maintenance financial Center, a dining facility, several barracks and a clinic. Before she retired in 2002, she was a quality control inspector for Lawton Central Junior High School. Survivors include her husband, of the home; her mother, Colorado City, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Rab Love, Baytown, Texas; a brother, Gary "Bubba" Swann and his girlfriend, Vickie Whitson, both of Colorado City; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Pam Maples, Mount Pleasant, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Billy Roper, Oklahoma City; a step-son, Michael Bridges and his wife Tonia, Lewisville, Texas; a step, Carrie Peacock and her husband, Jason, Frisco, Texas; a grandson, Joey Maples and his girlfriend, Heather Robertson, both of Pittsburg, Texas; two granddaughters: Kari Jones, Garland, Texas; and Christina Maples, Mount Pleasant, Texas; two step granddaughters: Sarah Grace and Emma Rose Peacock, both of Frisco, Texas: two nephews: Jim Love and Coal Swann; four nieces: Linda Love Knox, Ellen Love Ward, Kristie Swann Hart and Nicole Swann Ramoz; and many great-nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father; and infant daughter, Marilyn Maples; and a stepson, Rodney Bridges.
