Adams was born on July 5, 1924 near Friendship (Jackson County), OK to Ed and Lottie Seay. She died on April 14, 2014 at Ft Smith, AR. She was 89. Gladys was raised and attended school in Cache. After graduation, she attended Comanche County Memorial Hospital School of Practical Nursing and worked for many years as a nurse in the Lawton/Ft Sill area. She married Claude Adams on September 28, 1940 at Lawton, OK. Gladys has been retired for over 25 years, but is fondly remembered in the Lawton and Cache areas as someone who was always willing to help and be an active member of the community. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, VFW Auxiliary, POW/MIA Association, Licensed Practical Nurses Association, in addition to serving over 20 years as a volunteer in the Veteran's Clinics at Ft Sill and Memorial Hospital. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband Claude; brother and sister in law, Ray and Ruth Seay; and three additional siblings, Deloy, Anna Dories and Bobby Joe Seay. Survivors include her son, Edward Adams and his wife Diane of Poteau, OK; grandsons, Dan Adams and wife Marcia of Norman, Dave Adams and wife Kathy, also of Norman, and Brian Adams and wife Lenore of Russellville, AR; a granddaughter, Stacy Parker and husband Rhett of Cameron, TX; and 4 great grandchildren, Nathan in Norman, and Jadyn and Adyson in Cameron and Amber in Boulder, CO.
