May 25, 1958 ~ March 1, 2023

Tamara Lynn Newberry, a Stonewall resident, was born on May 25, 1958, to George Earnest and Ruth Yvonne (Sexton) Newberry, at Coalgate, OK. She passed away on March 1, 2023, at her home, at the age of 64 years, 9 months and 4 days. Tammy graduated from Coalgate High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master's Degree in Education from East Central University. She was a retired High School Principal at Stonewall Public School. Tammy Newberry was a firm believer that every child who wants an education deserves one. She demonstrated that through her many years of service in the education system. Tammy enjoyed all athletics but especially basketball. Her love for the game took her to Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton and then onto Oklahoma State University to finish her basketball career. Even after retiring from Stonewall School, Tammy continued keeping up with the Stonewall boy's athletic stats. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend Glenda Brady. They traveled to many games together over the years. When Tammy wasn’t traveling for basketball, she was devoting her time to the Stonewall Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member. She was devoted to fellowship and shared all of her interest with her grandsons.
