Delorese "Doodle" Mildred Dodd Hartsfield

Funeral services for Delorese "Doodle" Mildred (Dodd) Hartsfield, a longtime Coal County resident, were held Friday, July 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel of Coalgate with Rev. David Unsell officiating. Burial was in Moore Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mrs. Hartsfield was born May 5, 1922 in Wilson Community, OK to Homer Dewey & Maggie Matilda (Potts) Dodd and passed away July 26, 2011 in Coalgate, OK at the age of 89. She attended Clarita schools and married George Washington Hartsfield on March 22, 1940 in Ada, OK. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1989. "Doodle" was a housewife adn had worked as a supervisor at Wrangler for 28 years. she loved to sing and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. "Doodle" loved to crochet, read and watch old western movies. She was a member of the Clarita Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Ted Hartsfield and wife Betty of Clarita; brother, Wayne Dodd and wife Joyce of Athens, Ohio; daughter-in-law Gladys Hartsfield of OKC; grandchildren, George Hartsfield and wife Nancy of Beaumont, TX, Derek Hartsfield and wife Jen of OKC and Heather McKee and husband Donnie of Kenefic,OK; great grandchildren Wyatt Hartsfield, Nathan Hartsfield, Braeden McKee, Sydnee Hartsfield, Samantha Hartsfield, Natalie Hartsfield, Jazen McKee and Ashleigh Hartsfield; special friends, Gladys Whetstine and Zelda Ridley; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, George Franklin Hartsfield; grandson, Lance Walter Hartsfield; daughter-in-law, Phylis (Dotson) Hartsfield and brother, Eugene Dodd.

Casketbearers were Jim Clemens, Doyle Franklin, Doug Grady, Floyd Palmer, Lynn Daniel and Gary McDonald. Honorary bearers were Ray Bolin, W.M. Baskett, Edgar Collins and Doyle Nelson.
