Funeral services for Tammy Louise Hampton, a longtime Marietta resident, were held Monday September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev.Delbert White officiating. Burial was in Moore Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.
Tammy was born January 7, 1971 in Corpus Christi, TX to Charles Laverne Hampton and Judy Kay Lynch Hampton and passed away September 8, 2011 in Denton, TX at the age of 40. She attended and graduated Flour Bluff Hill School in Corpus Christi, TX and also attended Texas Women University, graduating in 1992 with bachelor's degree in Psychology. Tammy was an investigator for the state of Texas. She was a Christian with a strong faith and enjoyed spending time with all her animals.
Survivors include her mother, Judy Hampton of Tyler, TX; sister, Lisa Kay Hampton Stegent and Neil of Houston, TX; brother, Charles "Chuck" Edward Hampton and Kelly of Chesapeake, VA; stepbrother, Bruce Peterson of Austin, TX; stepsister, Tonia Peterson of Tyler, TX; cousiin, Rhonda Sharp and James of Coalgate, OK; special friend, Tammy Tolan of Marietta, OK; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Laverne Hampton.
Casketbearers were Charles Hampton, Frank Hampton, Keith Hampton, Ron Hampton, John Hampton, and Bruce Peterson. Honorary bearers were Zachary Stegent, Neil Stegent, Todd Coats, Charles Riley Hampton, and Chase Hampton
