Services for Richard Lee Hampton will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 2:00p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Richard Lee Hampton was born April 4, 1943 in Olney, OK to Charley Loy and Valencia Mae "Davidson" Hampton. Mr. Hampton proudly loved and served his Lord who called him home on August 16, 2010. He graduated from Olney Public Schools.

Richard proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, was a correctional officer for 20 years at MacAlford Correctional Center, and was currently the DAV Post Commander.

Mr. Hampton loved the outdoors and all it had to offer from hunting to raising animals and farming. He also deeply loved his family, his wife, children and grandchildren.

His mother, dad, two brothers, Lavern and Jimmie and one sister, Rosalie Flores, preceded Mr. Hampton in death.

He is survived by his wife Patricia of the home; five sons, Russell and Debbie of Stratford, OK, Rick and Sheryl of Tush Springs, OK, Steven and Kathy of Lindsay, OK, Robert of the home, and Todd and Stacia Coats of Coalgate,OK; one daughter, Jeannie and William of Oklahoma City, OK; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers, Ronnie and Dana of Coalgate,OK, David and Janie of Marlow, OK, Bill and Pauline of Grandfield, OK, Mike and Sandra of Marlow, Ok, and Frank and Donna of Foster, OK; one sister, Barbara and Gordon Cameron Stuart of McAlester, OK; one brother-in-law, Pete Flores; two sisters-in-law, Judy Hampton and Emily Hampton; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Casketbearers are John Hampton, Keith Hampton, Davie Hampton, Chase Hampton, Dusty Hampton and Jim Hall. Honorary casketbearers are Olen Bridges and Eddie Roebuck.
