Funeral services for Wanda Jean Davidson Gwinn, a longtime Coal County resident, were held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev. Mitchell Davidson and Rev. Tyson officiating. Burial was in Moore Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.
Mrs. Gwinn was born August 26, 1927 in Olney, OK to Johnny Lesley and Lona Mae Taylor Davidson and passed away January 13, 2010 in Ada at the age of 82. She attended school at Clarita and Oconee and married Woodrow Gwinn on October 10, 1942 in Mangum, OK. She was a homemaker and also worked at the Army Ammunition Base in McAlester and worked at Wrangler for a few years. She was member of the Jesus Name Church of Olney.
Survivors include her husband Woodrow of the home in Coalgate; children, James Gwinn and wife Norma of Moore, Nadine Mowdy and husband Jesse of Coalgate, Lou Vick and husband Reese of Olney, Dave Gwinn and wife Kay of Olney, Kenneth Gwinn and wife Diane of Durant and Roger Gwinn and wife Teena of Atoka; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, sister, Leota Nickell and husband James of Moore; brothers, Floyd Davidson and wife Gean of Moore and Mack Davidson adn wife Viola "Cricket" of Moore; along with numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and many dear and loved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lee Davidson and Kenneth Davidson.
Casketbearers were Tony Gwinn, Curtis Vick, Donald Vick, Daniel Vick, Ricky Mowdy, Jeff Mowdy, and Roger Gwinn, Jr. Honorary bearers were Floyd Davidson, Mack Davidson, James Nickell adn Sisroe Gwinn.
