Carol Ann Ridley Denson

Carol Ann (Ridley) Denson, age 74, a lifelong Olney, Oklahoma resident, was born on November 4, 1949, to Ray and Margaret (Brecheen)Ridley, at Ada, Oklahoma. Carol passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Coalgate, Oklahoma.

Carol attended Olney Schools and graduated with the Class of 1967. She attended college at Murray State in Tishomingo. Carol worked in the Coal County Treasurer’s Office for 25 years until she retired as the Coal County Treasurer on December 31, 2006.

She married Hershel Denson on March 1, 1969. They spent 25 wonderful years together until he passed away on July 24, 1994.

Carol was a member of the Coalgate Church of Christ. She enjoyed going to church and watching her grandchildren play sports.

Carol is survived by her son Kyle Denson and wife Jessica of Coalgate, OK; daughter-in-law Shonda Denson of Tupelo, OK; brother Gary Ridley of Coalgate, OK; grandchildren Ryan Denson and wife Lindsey of Yukon, OK; Jennifer Gurley and husband Ray of Liberty Hill, TX; Allie Couey and husband Matt of Tupelo, OK; Katyn Denson of Coalgate, OK; Jaxon Wardrope of Coalgate, OK; and Ava Denson of Coalgate, OK. Great grandchildren Harisen, Ava, and Raylee Denson of Yukon, OK; Gabriel, Faith, and Banner Gurley of Liberty Hill, TX; and Jackie Ray Couey of Tupelo, OK. Brothers-in-law David Battles of Coalgate, OK; Doug Denson and wife Emma Lou of Ada, OK. Nephew Lucas Ridley of Denison, TX; niece Lacy Walker and husband Ben of Coalgate, OK; nephews Jim Battles and wife Melissa of Olney, OK; Joe Battles and wife Crystal of Ada, OK; Kent Denson and wife Cari of Ada, OK; Steve Denson of Dallas, TX; and John Eric Denson and wife Hilary of Clarita, OK.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Margaret Ridley, husband Hershel Denson, son Kenny Denson, and sister Kay Battles.
