Kathern Lorain (Chester) Cox, age 80, a Coalgate resident was born on November 16, 1940, to Leonard Lonzo and Leona Maudie (Ferrell) Chester, at Lawton, OK. Kathern passed away on December 01, 2020 at her home in Coalgate, OK.
She graduated from Manitou High School in 1959. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Cameron University then obtained her Master's Degree from Northeastern University in 1980.
Kathern was a school counselor and a counselor in the prison system in Chico, Texas.
She married Gerald Wayne Cox on May 1, 1959 in Manitou, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 15, 2017.
Kathern was of the Southern Baptist Faith. She loved teaching children how to read.
