DARLENE (HARRISON) HOLT

Funeral services for Darlene (Harrison) Holt, a resident of Coalgate, will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Roy Montgomery officiating and Willard Harrison delivering the Eulogy. Family night will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.. Burial will be in the Midway Cemetery with arrangements under the directions of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mrs. Holt was born March 21, 1939 in Atoka County to Matthew Harrison and Gertrude Manning Harrison and passed away December 26, 2010 in Oklahoma City at the age of 71. She attended Dunbar and graduated from Atoka High School. On April 21, 1970 she married David Lee Holt at Coalgate. He preceded her in death in 1997. Darlene worked as a CNA at Baker's Nursing Home, worked as a dietician at Ruth Wilson Hurley Manor and Hubbard's Manor. She also worked for the Mayer family and loved to bake and quilt. Mrs. Holt was a member of the Fourth Ward Church of Christ in Atoka.

Survivors include five children, Jammie (Holt) Brown and wife LouAnn of Natchitoches, LA, Johnie Holt and Becky of Garvin, OK, David Holt of Coalgate, Valeria Holt of the home and Mary Holt of Coalgate; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Cecil Davis of Atoka; brothers, Joe Harrison of Atoka and Jessie Harrison of Atoka; special friends, Martharene Bruner and Bessie McIninch; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Bush of Ada and Pearline Holt of Chesapeake, VA; along with a host of nieces, nephews and many dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; seven brothers and four sisters; Liz Freeman, Adrene Oliver, Tommy Harrison, Ben Harrison, Paul Harrison, George Harrison, Irene Harrison, Billy Harrison, Leroy Harrison, Mavis Harrison and Jack Harrison.

Casketbearers will be Clint Mowdy, Chris Clymer, Michael Burns, Aaron Blue, Todd Coates, and Burney Blue. Honorary bearers will be Tom Mayer, Louis Sandmann, Don Lewis, Justin Whittenburg, Lance Cartlidge, and Clifford Brown.

Flower bearers will be Tammy Shirley, Scarlet Anderson, Melissa Snow, Liz Vick, Jean Horath, Bonnie Lemons, Donna Bolin, Rachel Ennis, Polly Gold and Sherry Loudermilk.
