Luther Franklin Wood, age 86, a Coalgate resident, passed away on July 16, 2019 at Tulsa, OK. He was born on May 20, 1933, to Elmer and Ethan (Davis) Wood, at Parker, OK. He attended & graduated from Tupelo School. Luther worked at Mack Alford Correctional Center in Stringtown, retiring in 1996. A veteran, Luther proudly served his Country in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. Luther married Barbara Thrailkill on July 2, 1955 in Littleton, Colorado. Luther enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening & reading. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Luther is SURVIVED BY: WIFE: Barbara Wood of Coalgate, OK., SON: Kevin Wood & wife Jennifer of Coalgate, OK., GRANDSON: Dylan Grubbs of Coalgate, OK., GRANDDAUGHTER: Emily Grubbs of Coalgate, OK., GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER: Pyper Rae., SISTER: Doloris Miller of Broken Bow, OK., Along with many loving nieces, nephews & dearly beloved family & friends.
Luther is PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: PARENTS: Elmer I. and Ethan G. (Davis) Wood; DAUGHTER: Tracy Wood; SISTER: Dan Ella Smith, ROTHERS: Bedford Wood, Delmer Wood, Ed Wood, Paul Wood & Dana Wood
