Delmer "Joke" Clayton Wood, age 92, a long time Coalgate resident. He was born on July 26, 1926, to Elmer and Ethen Gertrude (Davis)Wood, in Parker, OK. Joke passed away on May 15, 2019 at Coalgate, OK. at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 19 days. Joke attended Parker school.
Joke worked and retired from Savanna Ammunition Base as a Quality Assurance Inspector. He also enjoyed raising cattle.
Joke proudly served in the U.S. Army serving in the World War II. Joke was married Norma Jean Rankin on August 14, 1954 in Antlers, OK, she preceded him in death on August 4, 2006.
CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Joke attending the Cottonwood Baptist Church. His hobbies included playing golf, fishing, & selling horses.
Joke is survived by Daughter Mary Jane Price & husband Rod of Clovis, CA, Sons: Dale Wood & wife Sherri of Coalgate, OK. David Wood & wife Tiffany of Corona Delmar, CA, Gary Davis of Kentucky. Grandchildren Dara Priest, Vincent Wood, Daniel Wood, Victor Wood, Spencer Wood, Alexis Wood, David Wood Jr., & Dylan Wood, Great Grandchildren Elana Pearson, Vincent Wood Jr., Hunter Priest, Dominic Priest & Nya Priest. Sister Delores Miller & husband Randy of Broken Bow, OK, A brother Luther Wood & wife Barbara of Coalgate, OK. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his Wife Norma Jean (Rankin) Wood, Parents Elmer & Ethen Gertrude (Davis) Wood, Son Terry Wood Grandsons Matthew Thomas Wood, Justin Dale Wood, Brothers Judge Wood, Dane Wood, Ed Wood, Pauley Wood, and Sister Nell Smith

CASKETBEARERS: Travis Smith, Vincent Wood, David Wood Jr., Dylan Wood, Rick Woods, Phillip Guinn, Bobby Epperson, Paul Hooe. Family night will be Friday May 24th from 6 to 8 p.m.
