Gordon Augustus Vaughan, AGE 76, a longtime Coalgate resident.

Born:      March 10, 1927 at Durant, Ok to Gordon A. Sr. AND Bertie Alice (Baker) Vaughn.

Passed Away:     Saturday, Dececember 6, 2003 AT Oklahoma City.

Age:     76 Years 8 months 26 days

Education:     He graduated from Durant HIGH SCHOOL. after Military Service he attended AND graduated with Masters Degree from Southeastern State University.

Married:     Jahree Howe.

Occupation:      School Teacher AND Coach in Blanchard, Madill, Bixby, AND Temple, Ok.

Church Affiliation:      Baptist Faith.

HE WAS A Member of the Coaches Association. He coached Madill basketball team AND took them to State in 1961, He loved sports AND all athletics. A member of the American Legion in Durant, Ok., He was a eagle scout AND was involved with Boy Scouts as a young adult.

He SERVED HIS COUNTRY in U. S. Army DURING WW II.

Children:      Gary Vaughan of Coalgate, Ok.

                      Mike Vaughan AND wife Linda of Norman, Ok.

                      Simone Vaughan Hamer AND husband Linnie of Coalgate, Ok.

Mother of his Children:      Jahree Standridge of Coalgate, Ok.

Grandchildren:     Heather Vaughan of OkLAHOMA CITY.

                              Yance Vaughan of Bloomington, Il.

                              Kara Vaughan of Norman, Ok.

                              Dustin Hamer of Coalgate, Ok.

                              D'Shey Vaughan of Wilburton, Ok.

       preceded in death by

Parents:     Gordon A. AND Bertie (DECEMBER, 1974) Vaughan OF DURANT.

Brothers:      William Vaughan OF DURANT IN JANUARY, 1984.

                      Thomas C. Vaughan OF DURANT IN JULY, 1983.

Aunt that raised him:      Minnie Baker OF DURANT IN FEBRUARY, 1983.
