Funeral services for Ikey Franklin Traylor, a longtime Coalgate resident, were held Monday, October 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev. Bob Graham officiating. Burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate with arrangements under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.
Mr. Traylor was born July 17, 1929 in Adel, OK to Adolphus and Laurenia (Moore) Traylor and passed away October 8, 209 at his home in Olney at the age of 80. He attended Tupelo, Clarita and Olney School, graduating from Olney in 1948. On February 14, 1950, he married Ruby Hobgood in Sherman, TX. Mr. Traylor was a rancher and worked at Army Ammunition Plant in Savanna, also correctional facilities in Stringtown and McAlester, OK. He was a member of the First Church of God and had a passion for music and loved raising cattle.
Survivors include his wife Ruby Traylor of the home; children, Karen Griffiths of Ada and Dean Traylor and wife Tammy of Tuttle, OK; grandchildren, Tara Daughtery of Ada, Whitney Griffiths of Ada, Tracy Traylor of OKC, Trina Carter and husband Rusty of Holdenville, Keith Traylor of Tuttle, Katie Shelton of Stillwater and Kyle Shelton of Tuttle; sisters, Ethel Morlan of Torrence, CA, Lillie Archer of Tupelo and Lucille Thornton of Lake Isabella, CA; brothers, Doyle Traylor and wife Vickie of Coalgate and Ricky Traylor of Coalgate; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
She was preceded in death by his parents, Adolphus and Laurenia (Moore) Traylor; brother, Tommy Traylor adn granddaughter, Kellie Traylor.
Casketbearers were Dolphus Archer, Waymon Traylor, Ferlin Traylor, Ferman Traylor, Nickey Beal and Ronnie Hampton. Honorary bearers were Howard Ables, Alfred Riley, John Hampton, Gene Jordan, Billy Haworth, Tubby Ables, Boyd Lewis, Don Lawrence and Johnny West.
