Charles Gene Spears

Charles Gene Spears, a Coalgate resident, was born on June 9, 1947, to Joe Harmon Spears and Geraldine Patricia (Trail) Vance, at Merced, CA. He passed away on March 17, 2023, at Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 8 days. Charles graduated from Coalgate High School in the Class of 1965. He was a retired Army Veteran after 25 years of active duty. Charles proudly served during the Vietnam War. He married Linda Kathlene Walker on December 29, 1966, at Florence, AZ. They enjoyed 56 years together. Charles was Post Commander of the VFW 1198, a member of the American Legion Post 242, a member of the Masonic Lodge, a life member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Charles' favorite times were spent with his friends, family and grandchildren.

SURVIVED BY Wife: Linda Kathlene Spears of the home in Coalgate, OK Children: Tammy Bigelow and husband Tod of Ada, OK Charles Dewayne Spears and wife Neita of Coalgate, OK Grandchildren: David Allen Bigelow of Durant, OK Brian Bigelow and wife Shelby of Ada, OK Jessica Miller and husband Thomas of Ravia, OK Colten Spears of the home in Coalgate, OK Terri Spears of Coalgate, OK Kara Benson of Atoka, OK Great Grandchildren: Aiden and Maverick Miller Riley and Callum Bigelow Brothers: Eddie Spears of Eufaula, OK Paul Spears of Coalgate, OK Frank Spears and wife Karla of Frostproof, FL Sisters: Lynda Williams and husband Mike of Durant, OK Vickie Mallett of Cartersville, GA Debbie Hobson and husband Mike of Shreveport, LA Uncle: Bob Trail of Oklahoma City, OK Step Mother: Helen Spears of Coalgate, OK Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dearly loved friends
