Funeral services for Daina Marie (Eddings) Spangler, a Shawnee resident, were held Friday, December 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev. Jeff Self officiating. Burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown's Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Spangler was born November 231, 1942 in Coalgate to John Richard and Mary (Garner) Eddings and passed away December 13, 2011 in Shawnee, OK at the age of 68. She attended Tupelo and Coalgate schools and East Central University in Ada, graduating with a master's degree. On November 18, 1974 she married Phillip Rodney Spangler in Ft. Sill, OK. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2007. Daina owned and operated Sunny Beaches Grocery in Shawnee, OK.
Survivors include one son, John Richard Spangler of Shawnee, OK; grandchildren, Victoria Cogburn and Justin Spangler, both of Shawnee, OK; along with other relatives and dear and loved friends
She was preceded in death by her parents. husband and sisters, Joan Elaine Salmon and Martha Lou Young.
Pallbearers were Morris Eddings, Bob Eddings, Danny Young, Tony Young, Thomas Fritz and Darby Harjo.
