Funeral services for Betty Jo (Griffin) Orique, a Coal County resident, will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev. Bill Weathers officiating. Burial will be in Coalgate Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.
Mrs. Orique was born February 27, 1934 in Manilla, AZ to Walter Griffin and Ola (Bacon), raised by Ernest and Ola Mason and passed away July 4, 2009 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 75. She attended school in Peoria, AZ, was involved in nursing for 30 years and attended Cottonwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughter, Karen Flowers and husband Jerry of Coalgate; sons, Bobby Horner of Coalgate and Roger Horner and wife Theresa of St. George, UT; grandchildren, Carrie Miller, Gary Flowers, Jeremy Flowers, Angela Horner, Justin Horner, Aaron Horner, Mason Horner, Donny Horner and Richy Horner; along with nine great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Vest and husband Darrell of Broken Arrow, OK; along with numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by his father, Walter Griffin; mother Ola Mason and husband Ernest; brother Bill Griffin and sons, Robbie Horner and Richard Horner.
Casketbearers will be Gary Flowers, Jeremy Flowers, Donny Horner, David Miller, Bobby Horner, and Roger Horner. Honorary bearers will be Jarrett Miller, Michael Watkins and Ricky Horner.
