Funeral services for Richard Clay "Bob" Hobgood, a longtime Coalgate resident, were held Friday, April 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev. Bill Weathers officiating. Burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hobgood was born February 23, 1923 in Henryetta, OK to Jeff and Nola Mae Dysert Hobgood and passed away April 7, 2009 in Coalgate at the age of 86.
He atttended Centrahom school and married Juanita Summers in 1947 in Denison, TX. She preceded him in death in 2005. Mr. Hobgood worked on the pipeline.
Survivors include five children, Jerry Hobgood and wife Robbie of Paris, TX, Judy Bridges and husband Garry of Midwest City, OK, Jim Clemens and wife Marilyn of Coalgate, Garry Clemens and wife Carol of Coalgate and Phyllis Boyd and husband James of Mustang, OK; one sister Ruby Traylor of Olney, OK; fifteen grandchildren; on twenty-nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild along with other relatives adn many dear and loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife of 52 years, Juanita Hobgood; parents, Jeff and Nola Mae Hobgood; son, Larry Bob and James Ferrell; sisters, Ethel Thomas, Hazel Brandon, and Edith Pittman; and brothers, John and Boyce Hobgood.
Casketbearers were Chris Bridges, Jody Bridges, James David Clemens, Chad Hobgood, Larry James Hobgood, and Dusty Newberry.
