Funeral services for Billy Ray Gayler, a longtime Coal County resident, were held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown's Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gayler was born November 29, 1931 in Coal County, OK to Ernest Hardy and Clara Estelle Campbell Gayler and passed away March 30, 2011 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 79. He attended Cottonwood and Coalgate Schools and married Melba Brown on December 29, 1959 in Coalgate. Billy was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a transportation driver.

Survivors include his wife, Melba Gayler of the home; daughters, Jeana Lee and husband Philip and Melinda Tuck and husband Dean all of Coalgate; grandchildren, Bethany Lee and Jason Page, Trish Swift and husband David, Douglas Lee and Michael Tuck; brother, Floyd "Mack" Gayler of Coalgate; along with numerous other relatives (nieces,nephews and cousins) and many dear and loved friends.

Casketbearers were Charles Hendrix, Eric Nicholds, Billy Don Smith, Larry Lee, Eddie Hogue and Tony Watson.
