Funeral services for Mary Joan Blevins White, A Tupelo resident, were held Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Mr. Allan Brott officiating. Burial was in Centrahoma Cemetery with Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. White was born August 16, 1939 in Centrahoma, OK to William Blevins and Effie Mae and passed away June 30 2009 in Coalgate at the age of 69. She attended Centrahoma schools, married J.D. White "Sonny" on Sept.16, 1958 in Sherman, TX and was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Lynn Lee of Purcell, OK; one son, Donnie White and spouse Jennifer of Sherman, Tx: grandson, David Lee; granddaughters. Ashley and Rachel White; sister, Sally Turner of Shawnee, OK; brother, Buddy Blevins and Enid, OK; family friend, Johnny Hogue, his children, Johnny Hogue, Jr., Stacy Blankenship, children, Lilly Blankenship and Levi Hogue; along with numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Casketbearers were Troy Blevins, John Wallace, Gordon Smith, Johnny Hogue, Johnny Blankenship, and Michael Baldwin. Honorary bearer was Dolphus Archer.
