James L. Smith
James L. "Jim" Smith, 70, passed away at his home in Tupelo on Oct. 2.
Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 4, in the Tupleo Baptist Church with Brothers Anthony Randol and Claudie Alford officiting. Interment ws held at Byrd's Prairie Cemetery. Brown's Funeral Service, Colgate, handled arrangements.
He was born Oct. 17, 1935 in Pawhuska, the son of William S.and Rose Smith. He attended Immaculate Conception Cathloic Grade School and graduate from Pawhuska High School in 1954. He graduated from Tulsa University in 1970.
He retired from Sun Oil Co. in 1984 and was a rancher.
He was a member of the Tupelo Baptist Chuch, Gideons Internation-Ada Camp.
He was veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Kay, of the home; sisters, Norma Artz of Dewey and Alice Janitz of Tulsa; brothers, Lloyd of Pawhuska, Tommy of Brian, Texas and Donnie of Pawhuska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Roger and Eugene, sisters, Alma Kallenberger and Beverly Clerico.
