CHARLEY SIMONDS
ADA-Services for Charles Franklin, “Charley” Simonds, 38, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Monday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. Gary Jamar will officiate. Burial will follow at Byrd’s Prairie Cemetery in Tupelo. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Simonds died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at a local hospital. He was born January 5, 1970 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Bob and Pam Hunsaker Simonds. He graduated from Western Heights High School, attended Oklahoma City Community College and graduated from Heritage College. He came to the Ada area in February 2004 from Oklahoma City.
He married Ericka Berry Chiles on June 23, 2007. Mr. Simonds was a certified massage therapist, and was a supervisor of Attorney Resources-Referral Department at Pre-Paid Legal Services. He was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church, where he was active with the Tuesday night Karate Church, and an assistant karate instructor with Lightning Karate Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ericka Simonds, of the home; two sons, Matthew Simonds, Huntley, Illinois, and Jesse Chiles, Ada; his parents, Bob and Pam Simonds, Oklahoma City; a sister, Stephanie Emo and husband Bo, Moore; and other relatives.
Bearers will be Jesse Chiles, Ashley Wheat, Bryson Davis, Mark Williams, Bart Bristol, and Bo Emo. Honorary bearers will be his nephews, Brenden Simonds, Logan Sipple, and son, Matthew Simonds.
