WEST POINT, NE-Graveside services for Abigail E. Hughes, 15, of West Point, NE, formerly of Piedmont, Oklahoma, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Byrd’s Prairie Cemetery in Tupelo.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 5 at the Neilsen Community Center in West Point, NE.
Abbie died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at an Omaha, NE hospital. She was born July 10, 1996 in Oklahoma City to Daniel R. and Jlynn K. Keesling Hughes. She attended Piedmont Elementary School in Piedmont, OK; Westside Elementary and Benton County School of the Arts in Rogers, AR; and was currently attended West Point-Beemer Public Schools. She participated in basketball, soccer and softball. Abbie enjoyed painting, gardening with her dad, going to the lake, riding her bike and swimming.
Survivors include her parents, Dan and Jlynn Hughes of West Point, NE; a brother, Aaron Hughes of West Point; her sisters, her identical twin, Annie Hughes of West Point, and Arielle Hughes of West Point; a half-sister, Angie Walker and her husband Mikeal of Norman, and their children, Baylee and son Evan Ryan; her grandparents; Trudy Boland, West Point, NE, and Macon Hughes of Ada; her aunts and uncles, Pat Hughes, Guthrie, OK, Rena Hughes, Las Vegas, NV, Jeff Keesling, Sylvia, KS, Tammy Moss, Moore, OK, and Karla Cruz, Hutchinson, KS.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harvey and Elaine Keesling.
