GEORGE WASHINGTON HINES
Funeral services for George Washington Hines, a long time Coal County resident, were held Monday, August 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Tupelo First Batist Church with Mr. Wendell Ingram officiating. Burial was in Byrd's Prairie Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.
Mr. Hines was born February 16, 1915 in Gerty, OK to Richard Young and Laura Jane (Audrey) Hines and passed away August 6, 2009 in Ada, OK at the age of 94. He married Sarah Ella Scott on April 3, 1937 in Coalgate, OK. She preceded him death on Spetember 13, 1979. Mr. Hines worked on the railroad.
Survivors include three children, Alfred Ray Hines of Tupelo, OK, Barbara Sue Larson of Guymon, OK and Stanley Young HInes and wife Pat of Kilgore, TX; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and seventeen great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother; wife; six brothers, Floyd, Sterling, John, Olee, Vernon and Olther; three sisters, Violet, Ocie, and Nici; son-in-law, Dean Laron; daughter-in-law, Mryna Hines; two grandchildren, Charles Ray Larson and Alfred, Jr.; and great, great grandchildren, Emily Larson.
Casketbearers were Curtis Hines, Mike Hines, Jason Larson, Chris Hines, Richard Hines and Arley Larson. Honorary bearers were Chad Hines, Loyd Dodson, Fabian Larson and Gilbert Royval.
