MARY HARKINS
Graveside services for Mary Lilly Brown Harkins, 85, Tupelo, were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Byrd's Prairie Cemetery, Tupelo with the Rev. Bob Graham officiating. Services were under thee direction of Smith-Phillips Funeral Home, Ada.
She was born July 30, 1922, at Bowlegs to Harry Ross Brown and Annie Augusta Fife Brown and died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at an Ada hospital.
Mary and Chester Lee Harkins were married for 45 years before his death on November 24, 1984.
She attended Stonewall Public Schools and was a longtime resident of Tupelo, a homemaker and member of Achena Presbyterian Indian Church. She was also a member of the Seminole Tribe.
She is survived by five sons, James, Charles and Michael Harkins, all of Tupelo, Robert Harkins and his wife Darlene, Ada, and Roy Harkins and his wife Shirleen, Universal City, Texas; a daughter, Bettyann Harkins Redetzke and her husband William E., Wisconsin; a brother, Dorsey Fife Brown, Wichita, Kan., nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren,a nd numerous great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Annie Brown; four brothers, Clyde, Benjamin , Harry and Sam Brown; an d asister, Betty Brown.
Bearers were Robert McAusland, Robert Harkins, Roy Harkins, Michael Harkins and Terry Canida.
