BESSIE DAILEY
Services for Bessie Holman Dailey, 93, Tupelo, are 11 a.m. Thursday at the Tupelo Church of Christ, Wendell Ingram will officiate. Burial will follow at Byrd's Prairie Cemetery in Tupelo.
Mrs. Dailey died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at a Coalgate nursing home. She was born Sept. 24, 1915, at Stonewall to Ulus Marion and Pernettie Jane Mayes Holman.
She attended Eubanks grade school and attended El Dorado High School.
She married Vinson Huey Dailey on Aug. 24, 1933. He died Sept. 6, 1970.
Mrs. Dailey was an office manager for Boley-Alford Insurance Agency in Ada for several years. She was a founding member of the Tupelo Church of Christ and a seamstress.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Dan Dailey and wife Charlotte, Tupelo, and David Dailey and wife Marj, Hartshorne; six grandchildren, Brian Dial, Jimmy Lynn Dailey, Dana Louise Dailey, Tracy Dan Dailey, Chrissy Dawn Dailey, and Lynne Anne Benedict; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gussie Holman; and three brothers, Haley Holman, Harvey Holman and Homer Holman.
Bearers will be Charles Hudson, Bob Woods, Ed King, Charles Canida, Brock Jones and Billy Clyde Jones.
