CENTRAHOMA -- Services for Jackie Dale Couey Jr., a longtime Coal County resident, are 2 p.m Thursday at Brown's Funeral Chapel, Coalgate, the Rev. David Boggs officiating. Burial follows at Byrd's Prairie Cemetery.
Mr. Couey died Monday, April 14, 2008, in Hughes County. He was born May 9, 1967, in Oklahoma City to Jackie Dale Couey Sr. and Fannie Mae Vires Couey.
He attended school at Holdenville, Tupelo and vo-tech at Atoka. He worked for the railroad for 16 years and was a truck driver for Awesome Trucking Company in Allen. He was a member of Tupelo Baptist Church.
He married Brandy Stokes March 21, 1992, at Francis.
Survivors include his wife, Brandy Couey, Centrahoma; two sons, Bryant Yoder, Hutchison, Kan., and Matt Couey, Centrahoma; a daughter, Amber Couey, Centrahoma; three sisters, Darla Thorton, Oklahoma City, Norma Fortner and husband Kenny, Tupelo, and Donna Couey, Tupelo; a brother, Steve Couey, Lawton; his father, Jack Couey and wife Roylene, Coalgate; grandfather, Leon Couey, Duncan; stepsister, Nicole Hargis and Jeremy, Stonewall; and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Mae Vires Couey; grandmother, Era Couey; stepsister, Tawanna Sexton and grandparents, Issac and Gracie Vires.
Bearers are Marc Chamberlain, David Leland, Randy Northam, Bill Padley, Danny Vires and Josh Vires.
Honorary bearers are Gary Humphreys, Brad Gould, Kenny Pierce and Darryl Weller.
Family night will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Brown's Funeral Service, Coalgate.
