Jerry was born to Joe C. Stroud and Irene Stroud of Altus, Oklahoma October 3, 1932.
He was married to Mary K. Milner in 1950. Together they have raised four children and have helped anchor a family that includes seventeen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Jerry, like his father before him was a man of intense personal integrity and diligence in all of his affairs. He was charming.
Jerry was graduated from The University of Oklahoma in 1954 and immediately went to work for Halliburton in Duncan. He worked for that same company for thirty eight years. He began as an accountant in the audit department and finished as the Senior Area Credit Manager for the Denver region.
For eight years {1970-78} he was the the Division Financial Manager and Secretary-Treasurer for Venezuela, Colombia and Equador. During those years {1970-78} Jerry and Mary lived in Maracaibo, Venezuela and Las Morochas, Venezuela.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of sixty one years, his sister, Joan Graham of Wichita Falls; and two sons, Tim of Norman and Michael of Gillete Wyoming.
He is preceded by his parents; a son, Mark; a daughter, Celia; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers are his grandsons.
A memorial/celebration meeting will be held at Calvary Chapel of Norman, 1401 W. Boyd, at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14 under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stroud suggests that donations be sent to The Gideons International, P. O. Box 140800, Nashville, Tennessee 37214-0800.
