Cory was born May 12, 1988 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of Richard
Sherman Leroy and Connie (Wohnoutka) Finley.
Amber Jane was
born December 12, 2009 in Norman, Oklahoma the daughter of Cory
Jonathon Lee and Andra Nicole (Drake) Finley. They both passed
away early Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013 in their home as
the result of a house fire. Amber’s little pet dog, Buster, was
found curled up beside her, where he also died, trying his best
to protect little Amber.
Cory enjoyed computers, playing the guitar, and the drums. He
also enjoyed playing the internet based games, Everquest and
Word of Warcraft, where he was known as Donos.
Cory was employed for a brief time at Thunderbird Casino, where
he worked as an IT Technician.
Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his little
princess, Amber. He enjoyed playing with her and doing anything
to make her laugh. He was a great Daddy to Amber and the two of
them will be missed very much.
Amber enjoyed little tea parties, jumping on Granny and
Grandpa’s bed, spinning ‘round and ‘round, playing hide ‘n
seek, and taking bike rides to the park on the back of her
Daddy’s bicycle. Amber loved shopping and even at the young
age of three-years-old, was quite good at it! She enjoyed
singing along with the radio while taking car rides, and
watching Nick, Jr. TV. Some of her favorite shows are Dora the
Explorer, Despicable Me, Cinderella and Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs.
One of Amber most favorite things to do was to help cook and
bake. Amber would help herself by pushing a chair into the
kitchen, right up to the cabinet top, where she would perfectly
position herself to participate in the kitchen activities. She
simply loved being included in helping to create something
special to eat.
Amber’s beautiful smile and bright eyes will always be
remembered by her family. She was an absolute joy to be with
and we will miss her very much!
