Robert Marvin Cunningham, Sr. was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on April 17, 1938 to Robbie and John Roy Cunningham. Bob passed from this life on November 18, 2014 at the age of 76.

Bob’s family moved to Milan, Tennessee where he grew up, and graduated from Milan High School, Class of 1956. After Bob returned to Oklahoma, he married Jan Harlan Cunningham in 1959. To this union, two children were born, Jona Lou in 1961 and Rob in 1967. Bob and Jan were divorced in 1974.
Bob graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Engineering and immediately went to work for IBM until his retirement in 1993. Always a dedicated provider, and hard worker, Bob began his second career with the State of Oklahoma Department of Transportation where he also retired from in 2010.
Bob was a devoted Father and Grandfather, and the greatest love of his life was his three children. He was a faithful servant of God and attended Bethel Baptist Church. Those who knew him were blessed by his generous heart and kind, loving nature. Other than church and family, Bob’s favorite pastime was watching any and all sports, especially his beloved Sooners and Boston Red Sox. He loved playing golf with his son, watching old movies, music soundtracks, and spending time with his five beautiful granddaughters, who were his pride and joy.

Bob is survived by his son, Robert Marvin Cunningham, Jr. and wife Traci; daughter, Jona L. Thiessen and husband Tim; daughter, Kari Anne Cunningham; grandchildren, Jessica Farris, Madison Thiessen, Chelsea Thiessen, Anna Cunningham, and Emma Cunningham.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, Norman, Oklahoma.
Services are 2:00PM, Monday, November 24, 2014 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman, OK.
