Thomas “Tommy” B. Bridge, 88, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011.  Tommy was born May 20, 1922 in South Greensburg, PA to William J. and Sarah Callahan Bridge.  He was raised in Derry, PA, graduating from Derry High School in 1940.  He later enlisted into the United States Army on December 10, 1942 serving his country as a Sergeant, being Honorably discharged on April 20, 1946.

Tommy moved to Norman, Oklahoma in January 1946.  Tommy started to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company on March 11, 1947 and retired December 31, 1983.  He spent the first part of his career as a telephone lineman and the last part as a Southwestern Bell technician at Tinker Air Force Base.

Tommy married the love of his life, Thelma M. Lankford on May 26, 1956.  He was a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Norman.  He spent most of the last 40 years of his life doing volunteer maintenance work for the Westside Church of Christ. 

Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Thelma; eight nieces, Cecille Kampplain of Durant, OK, Kimberly Kampplain of Durant, OK, Jennifer Speer of Altus, OK, Karen Walters Griffee of Laverne, OK, Cheryl Brouwer of OKC, Suzanne Bridge of Derry, PA, Mareen Crevak of Blairsville, PA and Millissa Neiderhiniser of Mt. Pleasant, PA; nephew, Donald Kilman of Conroe, TX; several great nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Belle Walters of Altus, OK and Mildred Bridge of Derry, PA.  

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert J. Bridge; and his sister, Agnes M. Oliverio.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 29, 2011 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street, Norman, OK with interment following in the Warren Cemetery under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home. 

Family will greet friends at Havenbrook Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 28, 2011.
