Mazelle, 85, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was
born August 9, 1926 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Roy and Emma (Leonard) Kennedy. She
was united in marriage on August 6, 1945 in El Paso, Texas to Richard
Northington.
Mazelle graduated from Duncan High School. She was a purchasing supervisor for
the Couch Center in the University of Oklahoma retiring in 1985 after 20 years
of service. She was a devoted christian lady and a member of Brookhaven Baptist
Church. Mazelle enjoyed growing plants and her red rose bushes were her
favorite. She also enjoyed reading the newspaper and the Baptist Messenger and
sewing. Her greatest passion was her family and her church. She will be missed
by all that knew and loved her.
Mazelle is survived by two sons, Mike Northington of Norman and Steve
Northington and wife Barbara of Arlington, TX; one brother, Roy Kennedy and wife
Francis of Duncan, OK; one sister, JoAn King and husband Wayne of Duncan, OK;
three grandchildren, Tami Gieder and husband Joe of North Richland Hills, TX,
Jill Northington of Blanchard, OK and Lance Northington and wife Katherine of
Norman; four great grandchildren, Alex Gieder, Aaron Gieder, Macy Northington
and Taylon Northington; and a host of other family and friends.
She is preceded
in death by her parents; her husband Richard Northington; brother, Sherman
Kennedy; and sister, Marjetta Gilbert.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in the Chapel
of the Havenbrook Funeral Home with interment following in the
Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements for Mazelle and her family were placed in the care of the Vice
Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
