Robert Keith Maynard, 82, of Bridge Creek, died Saturday
August 8, 2015, at his home. The son of Homer Edwin Maynard and Elizabeth Irene
(Scranton) Maynard, he was born February 24, 1933, in Pittsfield, Illinois.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. Bob married
Barbara Louise Kessler on March 11, 1970 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He worked
for over 45 years as a long-haul truck driver and then worked for several more
years hauling locally. Bob was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ. In
his spare time, Bob enjoyed hunting and working outside in his yard. He was very
good at building and repairing things and spent countless hours tinkering in his
shop. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Linda Maynard and
Christine Henderson; a granddaughter, Pamela King; a grandson, Robbie Maynard; a
sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and John Carlton; a brother, Donald Maynard;
and a brother-in-law, Ralph Smith.
Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara Maynard of Bridge Creek; five daughters,
Wanda King and husband, David, of Moore, Tammy Clark and husband, Tim, of
Blanchard, Lisa Rogers and husband, Wesley, of Dibble, Elizabeth Shafer of
Bridge Creek, and Kimberly Landrum and husband, Yancey, of Oklahoma City; one
son, Michael Maynard of Moore; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two
sisters, Virginia Smith of Illinois, and Thelma Shultz and husband, Tom, of
Texas; a sister-in-law, Vera Maynard of Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews,
cousins; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at the Blanchard
Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman.
Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
