Holley, Jr., James Luther “Jim”, 87 of Norman went to be with the Lord, Friday, February 22, 2013.  Services will begin 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman with Reverend Kevin Clause and Minister Steve Holley, co-officiating.  Burial will conclude in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman. 

Jim was born March 22, 1925 in Florence, Alabama and grew up in Jemison, Alabama.  He joined the Navy at the age of 17 in 1943 and served his country until 1945.  He was united in marriage to Miss Johnnie Fay Cook on July 30, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama and they were married for 58 years.  They moved to Norman in 1989 after Jim retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Company after more than 31 years of service.  During retirement, Jim enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie in March of 2002; his parents; one brother, Grogan; and one daughter, Lynda Markwell. 

He is survived by three sons, who all agree he was the world’s greatest father, Steven Holley and wife, Susan of Cushing, Oklahoma, David Holley and wife Redena of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Mark Holley and wife, Renee of Norman, Oklahoma; one son-in-law, Randy Markwell of Meeker, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Johnna Ledgerwood, Toby Holley, Amy Callahan, Chris Holley, Sherri Rodgers, Steven Rodgers, Josef Holley, Jonathan Holley and Reanna Holley; and eleven great grandchildren, Franklin Ledgerwood, Darrion Ledgerwood, Cassidy Callahan, Gaven Holley, James Dalzell, Kaleb Rodgers, Lyon Huynh, Jacob Huynh; Isabella Holley, Serenity Holley and Tory Grose.

Arrangements for Jim and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.  Online condolences may be shared at www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com
