Geraldine “Jerrie”
Waddle, 77, left her earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday,
October 7, 2014. She passed peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Jerrie was born March 22, 1937, in Norman, to Frank and Nelma Tarbet.
Jerrie was the second of two children. She grew up in Norman and graduated from
Norman High School. In January 1959, she married the love of her life, Don
Waddle. They lived and raised their 3 children in their Norman home. They were
blessed with 53 wonderful years of marriage before Don’s passing. Jerrie worked
as a Deputy Treasurer in the Cleveland County Treasurers office until her
children were born and then devoted her life to raising them. Jerrie was very
active in the little church she was raised in and always loved and served her
Lord. She and Don taught many Sunday School classes and served as youth
directors for many years. Jerrie was known for her sweet loving spirit, her
writing and drawing talent and her humor.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl Barton and husband, Rick, of the home;
Mike Waddle and wife Melinda of San Antonio, TX and Christopher Waddle and
husband Kevin Harden of Sherman, TX. Six grandchildren, Amanda Widener and
husband Bill, Meridian MS; Jarred Fry and wife Heather, Moore, OK; Justin Waddle
and wife Alicia, Kilgore, TX; Katelynn Blalock and husband Dustin, Norman, OK;
Tyler Waddle, Kilgore, TX and Miranda Barton, Norman, OK. Three great-grandchiildren,
Kimberly and Beau Fry and Payton Widener and one to arrive in May. She is also
survived by her loving sister, Barbara Tarbet; Sister-in-law Shirley Rider and
Brother-in-law Keith Waddle and wife Shirley; many nieces and nephews and very
special cousin, Sharon Stone.
The family would like to thank the staff of 21st Century Home Health for their
many years of care and recently the staff of Loving Care Hospice. Most
importantly, her caregivers and “adopted daughters” Heather Graves and Sherri
Chesnut. Your love and care meant so much to her.
