Inez (Annesley)
Strategier, age 85, of Norman passed peacefully Friday, April 25th with her
children by her side. She was the youngest child born May 30, 1928 in Waldron,
Arkansas to Lou Ann Yandell and U. S. Grant Annesley.
Inez moved with her family to the Goldsby area where she started school in 1934
in a four- room school house. On Saturdays, Inez would ride to town with her
father in a covered wagon. In the early 1940’s, she moved to Norman and began
working at the University Commissary. Inez met the love of her life, J.B.
Strategier, at The Diner on East Main in 1947. They were married April 17, 1948
in Norman where they lived and raised their three children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Strategier; her grandson, Grant
Bernard Strategier; and her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors
include her two sons, Phil Strategier and his wife Gay of Norman and Greg
Strategier and his wife Jamie of New Orleans, Louisiana; her daughter, Pam
Strategier Panter of Collierville, Tennessee; and eight grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Tracy Jensen and
Sherion Trask for over ten years of loving care and support.
Funeral services for Inez will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014
in the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman with
interment following at Sunset Memorial
Park Cemetery in Norman. The Rev. Jerry Rhoades will be officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2014 and 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014 with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening.
