Funeral services for Marjorie “Marge” Stone, age 89, of Norman, will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 21, 2011 at the MacFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church, 419 South University Boulevard in Norman with Reverend Cal Brannon officiating.

Marge was born March 14, 1921 in Geary, Oklahoma the daughter of Earl and Una Belle (Eberly) Tucker.  She passed away early Thursday morning, January 13, 2011 at the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Marge attended schools in Geary, graduating from Geary High School in 1939. She then attended Southwestern Teachers College (now Southwestern Oklahoma State University) in Weatherford, Oklahoma for a brief time before meeting and marrying Morris King later that same year.

Morris and Marge lived on a farm in Hinton, where they welcomed their first child, Maxine, who was born in 1944.  They remained in Hinton until 1952, at which time they moved to Watonga, where Morris began a career with Belknap.  Morris and Marge welcomed their second child, Wayne, who was born in 1952, and the family remained in Watonga before moving to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1960 where Morris began a career with the American Cancer Society and Marge took a position with the Oklahoma Historical Society, remaining there until 1970.

Morris passed away in 1988 and Marge moved to Norman in 1990.  While residing in Norman, Marge was introduced to Mr. Skip Stone and the two of them were married in 1992.  Skip and Marge enjoyed life together, traveling extensively across the United States and Europe. Skip passed away in 2006 and Marge remained in Norman where she continued to be active in the Fellowship Sunday Class at the McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church.  She was also involved in the Military Wives Organization of Norman, the Norman Book Club and was a faithful member and volunteer of the PEO of Watonga, Edmond and Norman.
She enjoyed meeting her friends to play Bridge, attended various plays, theater, and symphonies at the University of Oklahoma and in Oklahoma City.  Marge enjoyed her life and was thankful to God for her good health and the many wonderful years He gave her.  Although she has now gone on to be with Jesus, we will never forget her warm smile, her dynamic personality and the many wonderful times we all shared with her laughing, visiting and making the memories that now sustain us in her absence.  She will be missed.

In addition to her husbands, Marge was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Maxine Duffy in 2005.

Survivors include her son, Dr. Wayne King and his wife, Tina of Edmond, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; Neil King of Oklahoma City, Tim King of Oklahoma City, Gavin Duffy and his wife, Paula of Elk City; and Ginger Touchstone of Elk City; eight great grandchildren; and one sister; Rosalie Smith of Sun City, Arizona.

Visitation for Marge will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 and 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman.

Interment will conclude in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
