Mocella Shumway “Cella”, 73, passed away March 15, 2012. She was born March 14, 1939 in Mesa, AZ to Elias and Marita Brimhall.
She was united in marriage on August 24, 1960, in
the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple to David Shumway.
Mocella graduated in 1957 from Mesa High School and later attended Northern
Arizona University and Brigham Young University. She was an accomplished
pianist, cellist and artist. Cella traveled the world with her sweetheart. She
enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, and sewing for her family and friends.
Mocella was well known for her amazing parties. She had a servant's heart,
always putting other people's needs before her own. Mocella will be missed by
all that knew and loved her.
Mocella is survived by her husband, David Shumway; two sons, Bryant Shumway
(Tonya) and Wade Shumway (Dava); four daughters, Kara Tucker (David), Donna
Shumway, Jean Porritt (Eric) and Jill Shumway; brother, Dwayne Brimhall;
sisters, Marilyn Hales and Cella's twin Marita Edwards; 22 grandchildren; 5
great grandchildren; inlaws and outlaws; and many nieces and nephews.
She is
preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Rae Brimhall.
Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2012 with the
family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home,
3401 Havenbrook St., Norman.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1506 W. Imhoff Rd., Norman with
interment following in Sunset Memorial
Park Cemetery.
