On June 7th at approximately 12:30 pm, Heaven got a little brighter… Helen Russell, after touching the lives of many people, went on to be with her Lord.

Helen is survived by her husband Gene Russell, daughter Ginna Sterling (James), son Bob Russell (Kellie), grandsons Josh Sterling (Angela) and Ryan Russell (Susan), granddaughters Holly Muck (Jarrod) and Kayla Russell.

She was also the proud, great grandmother or "Granny" to Atley Muck and Ellie Muck. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Kelley (Rex) and brother Bill Harvill, as well as many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Ila and Bertha Harvill and brother "Bo" Harvill.

Helen was a devoted wife to Gene for 62 years. Together, they made "much of little" during the early years and always found a way to take care of their family. Helen worked at Credithrift in Del City. After retiring from Credithrift, Helen and Gene enjoyed travel with family and friends as well as the normal "spoiling" of the grandkids and great grandkids. Helen was often referred to as "The Angel Lady" because she enjoyed the craft of making Angel pins which she would customize to have special meaning to each individual. She consistently lived in such a way to serve as an example of the love of Christ.

Helen's kindness and loving spirit were experienced by many who crossed her path, but especially children. She taught Sunday school to preschoolers at SW Free Will Baptist Church and helped in the nursery as well as served as an assistant teacher to preschoolers at Sunnylane Family Church where she was a member. There are countless smiles recorded on the faces of children throughout the years who were touched by the love of God through Helen.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 8-8pm at Ford Funeral Service. Funeral Service will be 2pm Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Sunnylane Family Church in Del City, OK.

She will be missed, but we take comfort in knowing she is resting in the arms of Jesus.
